Bequest: Make a Gift to Make a Difference
You may be looking for a way to make a significant gift to support children and families in Baker County and North Powder. A bequest is a gift made through your will or trust. It is one of the most popular and flexible ways that you can support Baker Relief Nursery’s child abuse prevention efforts.
How Do I Make A Bequest?
If you are 70½ or older, you can help us this year with an IRA charitable rollover.
- Contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift from your IRA to Baker Relief Nursery
- Your IRA funds will be directly transferred to BRN to help continue our therapeutic classroom and home visiting programs
- IRA charitable rollover gifts, however, do not qualify for a charitable deduction

- Gift a specific dollar amount or asset
- Gift a percentage of your estate
- Gift personal property
Sample Language To Use In Your Will
It’s as simple as stating, “I, ________, hereby give, devise, and bequeath X amount of dollars to Baker Relief Nursery, Inc., a nonprofit organization located in Baker City, Oregon (Tax EIN: 85-1615032) for general operating purposes.
You can bequest personal property in much the same way. Both will help us continue to serve struggling and fragile families at greatest risk for child maltreatment.
